As I pack my bags once again to hit the streets as the “Sheet Queen”, I’m reminded of just how unglamorous travel has become.  Between heightened security, dismal food, and cramped airline seats, travel is not what it once was.  Luckily, I have a few Leontine travel essentials that make my frequent business trips a touch more enjoyable.

Set of 3 Trapunto Lingere Cases, $295.

The most essential item for any woman who travels by plane is hands down the set of 3 lingere cases.  With TSA agents rummaging through your clothes, the lingere cases offer an elegant way to keep your unmentionables out of sight and neatly tucked away during baggage searches.  The medium bag is perfect for scarves and belts, while the small bag works well for my larger pieces jewelry.

Eye Mask with Case, $100.

Aside from being charmingly tongue-in-cheek with the quilted eye lashes, the eyeshade is an absolute must for the occasional red-eye or overseas flight, and also serves you well should you find your hotel room has light pollution seeping in through a window or hallway.

Large Jewel Round, $95.  Medium Jewel Round, $65.  Small Jewel Round, $45.

The round jewelry box, available in 3 sizes, is perfect for traveling.  The large is 6” and has side pockets along the perimeter to help you keep your items untangled and organized.  I like the medium 4” size to keep my fine jewelry with me on my carry-on.  And the petite 3” size is ideal for short trips.  Stacked together as a tower and tied with ribbon, this makes the perfect gift for the travel-weary girl in your life.

Talley Bag, $75.

The Talley bag is a sweet little cosmetic bag perfectly sized to hold your make-up essentials.  It nests perfectly in our larger bags, and can easily be toted with you in your handbag during the day for the much-needed touch-up when you are go-go-go from sunrise to sunset.

Milan Tote, $145.

Of all our toiletry bags, the Milan bag is my favorite because it’s slim profile packs very nicely in an overstuffed suitcase.  Large enough to hold regular-sized bottles of shampoo, conditioner, etc, AND then nest your Talley bag on top, it is also plastic-lined to keep leaks to a minimum.  $145 as shown.

Pretty but practical items, each of these pieces help keep your spirits up during travel.  It's hard these days, I know, so follow my advice:  Pack thoughtfully, grab a good book, a bottle of water and a little piece and quiet when you fly the friendly skies.

I’m off to New York City for a busy linens-filled week – only to be heading to New Orleans for the Carnival celebration next week.  You can rest assured that as I pack tonight, I’ll be filling my own essential Leontine travel pieces!

Best,
